Creative Artists of Connecticut (2024)

What we’re about

Creative Artists of Connecticut

This group is dedicated to creating open art critiques facilitated by international visual artist and composer, G. "EDGAR" Griffin.

WHO WE ARE: Artists in all genres who seek feedback on their work.

HOW WE WORK: Bring your artwork which you have made and please pose questions if you want us to give feedback... Shorter critiques are ok if needed.

WHAT YOU MUST EXPECT: A safe space with both care and tolerance towards all participants – respectful discussion promoted towards the works presented – Serious yet fun conversation over great food. Hopefully, friendships and alliances can be made.

MINDSET FOR TALKING WITH US: Artwork is appreciated. Promotion of bullying, hate, violence, and anything which evokes emotional trauma will be rejected. Political art/dialogue regardless of issue or side will be rejected because too many people are fighting over that stuff. IF you delight in upsetting people, this group is not for you, and we won't let you come back anymore! – All honest and respectful opinions are valuable. Creative criticism is welcome. Bullying and hate speech will be rejected – Each voice is listened to – Everybody’s participation is appreciated.

Originally from the Los Angeles County area of California, EDGAR is an International Relations graduate of Syracuse University, NY. EDGAR utilized his human relations and linguistic skills to travel worldwide and work in both the arts and entertainment industries. His work has been exhibiting nationally and internationally. EDGAR has worked in both film and television projects such as "Buffy The Vampire Slayer", "The Hangover 2", "Deep Impact", and many others. He has exhibited and participated in creative projects at The Museum of Contemporary Art in Los Angeles and Center for the Arts Eagle Rock. EDGAR was briefly a core volunteer at 924 Gilman Street creative space in Berkeley, California.
