Unlike modern shonen anime titles like Demon Slayer or Chainsaw Man, Naruto didn’t follow the seasonal approach, as new episodes were aired every week throughout the year. This, combined with a total of 72 manga volumes containing 700 chapters, made it one of the longest-running anime series of all time, with a total of 720 episodes.

Even then, people love watching it because it’s just that good. But you don’t need me to tell you how good the series is because you’ve probably watched it multiple times and recommended it to several of your friends.

Naruto Uzumaki is the titular character of the show which is why it’s not surprising that you want to know more about him and his journey of becoming the Hokage.

For most of the first part of the story, Naruto is around 12 to 13 years during most of the missions he gets sent on until his climactic clash with Sasuke, which ends with both ninjas going their separate ways.

Later on, in Naruto Shippuden, Naruto aged up to 15 years by the term he returned to Konohagakure. His birthday was also celebrated several times in the anime leading up to the Fourth Great Ninja War, with his age being 17 years old by the time the war concluded.

Naruto was considerably on the shorter end at the start of the series at 145.3 cm but has grown a fair bit since the beginning of Shippuden to 166 cm and even more at the end by the time he assumed the role of Hokage to 180 cm.

Sasuke Uchiha

Sasuke Uchiha is often regarded as one of Naruto’s closest friends and a rival, while also being in the same team as him, Team 7, making him one of the show’s main characters.

Like Naruto, Sasuke was around 12 to 13 years by the time the series started, and they went on missions together as ninjas, but Sasuke is slightly older than Naruto. This fact is carried over to Shippuden when Sasuke was 16 years old during his time away from the village, and by the end of the Fourth Great Ninja War, Sasuke was around 17 years old.

Kakashi Hatake

Kakashi Hatake is an extremely talented ninja that served as the mentor and leader of the famed Team 7.

During his introduction into the series, Kakashi already had a strong reputation surrounding him as one of Konohagakure’s veteran shinobis. He was said to be in his late 20’s, specifically 26 years old, by the time he became Team 7’s leader.

In the next part, he was 29 years old at the start of the events leading up to the Fourth Great Ninja War and was 31 years old towards the end, where he even became the Sixth Hokage before Naruto.

He is also a considerably tall character, never changing in height or stature from the start to the end of the series. Kakashi is currently 181 cm making him taller than several characters, including adults.

Hinata Hyuga

Hinata’s stature is considerably short compared to most characters, which only alleviates her shy and timid disposition. She was initially 147.3 cm for the majority of the first part of the story but grew to be taller at 160 cm.

Sakura Haruno

The last member of Team 7 introduced in this article, Sakura Haruno, with Naruto, Sasuke, and their leader Kakashi, make up the famed ninja team that we mainly follow.

Like many of the Genin Ninjas we are introduced to at the start of the series, Sakura graduated and joined Team 7 at the same time that Naruto and Sasuke did. This makes her the same age as them at 12 to 13 years old by the time the first part ended.

At the start of the second part, this pink-haired girl aged up to 15 years old, and by the end of the Fourth Great Ninja War, Sakura was 17 years old.

Sakura is considerably tall for girls her age, with a height of either 148.5cm to 150.1 cm. She retains this height range but grew a bit, considering that her height was 161 cm at the end of Shippuden.

Itachi Uchiha

By the time Shippuden rolled around and his climactic battle with Sasuke, Itachi was about 21 years old.

Despite being considerably young, Itachi is tall with his initial appearance and height at 175.2 cm. This height wouldn’t drastically change following Part II of the series, where he grew to 178 cm in height.

Obito Uchiha

When we first get introduced to Obito through Kakashi’s history, he is shown to be 13 years old. His actual age during most of Part 2 of the series isn’t exactly clear, but it can be assumed to be similar to Kakashi’s as they were the same age.

By the end of the series and when his identity is revealed, we are shown that his actual age is 31, which isn’t that far from Kakashi.

Obito used to be shorter in height as a kid at 154.2 cm but grew to an incredibly tall height of 182 cm, making him one of the tallest characters around.

Hashirama Senju

The First Hokage of the Hidden Leaf Village and one of the strongest characters in the series, Hashirama Senju, served as one of the founders of the aforementioned village and was a close friend to Madara Uchiha.

By the time the original series started and in Shippuden, Hashirama was already dead, making it impossible to guess his actual age. Despite appearing several times throughout the series, especially during the Fourth Great Ninja War, his age was never revealed.

Regardless, we can still get general information about his character, such as his height of 185.1 cm, easily displayed by how he towers over several characters. His birthday is shown to be on October 23.

Madara Uchiha

Madara Uchiha is the famous and legendary leader of the Uchiha clan who also served as one of the founders of the Hidden Leaf Village.

Similar to Hashirama, with whom he shared a great deal of rivalry and even friendship, not much is known about his actual age or how old he was when he appeared at the Fourth Great Ninja War. However, Madara is still an exceedingly powerful individual who played a significant role in the war.

For those curious about his height, during his official debut at the 4th Great Ninja War, he stands to be around 179 cm. Although not as tall as other characters in the story, he still has an intimidating presence because of his history. His birthday is celebrated on December 24, based on his character profile.

Jiraiya

By the time he was introduced to the series, Jiraiya was in his early 50s, making his age about 50 to 51 years old. Earlier in the series, Jiraya continued to mentor Naruto until their eventual departure from the Hidden Leaf.

When he returned to Konoha along with Naruto, Jiraya was about 54 years old. However, Jiraya remained the same appearance-wise, with very little difference before he left.

Jiraya’s birthday is celebrated on November 11, with his height being 191.2 cm which is clearly seen in the way he towers over several characters he’s around within the series.

Orochimaru

Orochimaru is another member of the legendary Sannin and the opposite of Jiraya in terms of his contributions towards the original Team 7 and the series.

Despite Orochimaru’s different appearances and disguises, his age remains the same as the other Sannin. He was about 50-51 years old during his introduction in the series and during his meeting with Sasuke. He was subsequently aged up in the Shippuden series following his mentorship over Sasuke.

His appearance remains the same throughout the series, even not changing drastically towards the sequel, where he remains the same despite 15 years passing.

Despite being able to change his appearance down to the last bit, Orichimaru’s true height is about 172 cm. Additionally, his birthday is celebrated on October 27.

Tsunade

Tsunade is the last of the legendary Sannin introduced in the series and is also known for her position as the Fifth Hokage, which she held towards the end of the first part and most of the second part.

Contrary to her appearance as a woman in her young adult years, Tsunade is way older than she looks. Like the other Sannin, Tsunade’s actual age is about 51 years, and she is actually the older one among them by several months.

By the time Naruto Shippuden concluded, and before her stepping down as the Fifth Hokage, Tsunade was about 54 to 55 years old.

Despite being the shortest among the three Sannin at 163.1 cm, Tsunade is often regarded as the strongest in terms of physical strength among the three. She also serves as the mentor for Sakura in the series, where she taught her how to become a medical ninja.

Kabuto Yakushi

When Kabuto was first introduced in the series, he was around 19 to 20 years old when he met Team 7 during the Chuunin exams. Throughout the series, we learn more about Kabuto and his past, before and after meeting Orochimaru.

He was around 23 to 24 years old by the time series ended and about his late 30s when the spinoff series, Boruto, started airing. Interestingly enough, Kabuto’s birthday is celebrated on February 29.

Nagato (Pain)

Officially revealed as the leader of the Akatsuki in Naruto Shippuden, Nagato, together with Yahiko and Konan, were war orphans who Jiraiya took in. He’s also one of the few Uzumaki clan members introduced in the series.

During the flashbacks that recounted Jiraiya’s encounter and time with the three, Nagato was shown to be considerably younger. His age during that flashback was similar to Naruto’s in his early childhood. However, his actual age by the time we meet him is 35 years old when you consider that he was still around during the Second Shinobi War.

Despite his physical appearance following the defeat of his path of Pains, Nagato is considerably tall at 175.5 cm, with his birthday being celebrated a bit later into the year on September 19.

Killer Bee

The Jinchuriki of the Eight-Tailed Beast, Killer Bee, is a ninja hailing from Kumogakure and serves as the most recent and current wielder of the Eight-Tailed Beast.

His debut in the series following his battle with Sasuke and subsequently the Path of Pain, he was around 35 years old. His age serves as a stark contrast to his playful and energetic demeanor, making him seem younger than he really was.

This dark-skinned character is also surprisingly a tall character at 192 cm, even more so when he transforms into the Eight-Tailed Beast. His birthday is celebrated early in the year on May 5.

Might Guy

Guy shares a somewhat one-sided rivalry with Kakashi as they are close in age to one another. His age at the start of the series has him at about 26 to 27 years; by the end of the series, he was around 30 to 31 years old.

His birthday is noted to be on January 1, according to his character profile, and his height is around 184 cm. His height makes him considerably taller than many of his allies and students in the latter years despite being in a wheelchair for some parts.

Shikamaru Nara

By the time Naruto returned to the village at the start of Naruto Shippuden, Shikamaru was about 15 years old, and, like most of his peers, he was almost 17 years old when the Fourth Great Ninja War ended.

Shikamaru was considerably tall in his younger years at about 150.8 cm, which continued to his teenage years with his height of 170 cm. He was about 22 years by the time Naruto got married and even older by the time the next generation of ninjas came around.

Gaara

Being close friends with Naruto as the two share similar backgrounds and circ*mstances, Gaara shares the same age as him when he was first introduced in the series. Gaara was about 12 to 13 years following his fight and battle with Naruto, then 15 years old when Naruto returned to Konoha and went on a mission to rescue the Kazekage.

His height and stature are considerably shorter than most characters, with his initial appearance having him at 146.1 cm tall and only growing to 166.1 cm much later in the series. Gaara’s birthday is celebrated in the year’s first month, on January 19.

Rock Lee

Unlike many of the Genins we were introduced to earlier in the series, Lee is a bit older than them by one year, as he had already graduated from the academy a year before Naruto’s graduation. This makes his age around 13 to 14 years for most of the first and then 17 years old by the time Naruto returns to the Hidden Leaf Village.

Being older than most of his peers, he falls under the taller side of the group, being 158.5 cm in the first part and then 172 cm for Part II of the series. His birthday is celebrated every November 27.
